The Community Prepper
Hello!
Today, as the world throws curveballs our way, there’s something delightfully grounding about old wisdom that keeps us steady. Think back to the last time your community was put to the test. Maybe it was a hurricane, a tough economy, or the year everyone suddenly became expert bread bakers. Who felt the pinch the most? Usually, it’s those already balancing life on a tightrope—the elderly, folks scraping by, single parents juggling a million things at once. That’s where “community-ism” comes into play.
The San Roque Tiny Mart is a place where we can swap stories, share tips, and maybe even a laugh or two. Why not toss in a dash of creativity and a sprinkle of fun while we’re at it? After all, building a resilient community doesn’t have to be dull—it can be a party where everyone’s invited!
Hi. I’m Amy. I’ve been a resident of the San Roque neighborhood for over 30 years. I love my neighborhood and my community.
I’m passionate about building resilient, caring communities as an antidote to today’s uncertainties, and I want to inspire people to move from isolation to mutual resource-sharing.
My passion and convictions come from a belief in voluntary, joyful sharing, grounded in the understanding that each of our stories is deeply connected. I believe real community is built on generosity and open-heartedness, and those values should be at the core of any neighborhood.
“A stranger is no longer a stranger to someone who must become a neighbor to someone in need... Even an enemy ceases to be an enemy for the person who is obliged to love him."
Pope John Paul II Evangelium Vitae.
